I am strong, I am smart, I am fit, I am healthy. This was my mantra when I started this journey. When I was 142.5 kgs, when I was walking, when my knees felt like they were on fire and I was in so much pain, I would cry. I would say over and over and over again in my head and out loud: I am strong, I am smart, I am fit, I am healthy. My name is Gwen, my friends call me Gwennie. I am 47. I have been married for 29 years and have 3 beautiful children. 26, 25 and 16. I have been overweight all my life. I was a fat baby, a fat toddler, a fat child and now a fat adult. I have struggled with my weight since I can remember. I am a yo yo dieter and an emotional eater. I have always been a fairly active person, until recently when my body has decided to collapse on me. I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's Thyroid condition 16 years ago, shortly after the birth of my daughter. I had a full hysterectomy about 3 years ago after suffering from Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome and severe Endometriosis for many years. I also suffer from Osteo Arthritis in both knees. I am a walking disaster area! If I don't lose weight, I will become an invalid and I have too much living to do yet, to let that happen.
